Hot Mess Moments

Brand Creation | 2021

Hot Mess Moments is a weekly YouTube show and podcast hosted Beth Dixon and Dylan Zaner. The show is a “let’s watch” and consists of two queer people recapping their co-host’s favorite shows that the other hasn’t seen before: The Nanny and Lost. The show is lighthearted, funny, and filled with irreverent moments and witty innuendo.

Primary logo lockup and color scheme

The client’s ask was to create something in-your-face vibrant and colorful—think bubblegum and the Powerpuff Girls.

The logo I created has three distinct elements. The full logo consists of the logotype, featuring a customized version of Rooney Sans with a hard drop shadow outline. The sub-headline is optional, especially for smaller applications.

I created a triad color scheme of B*tchin Blue, Sassy Sunshine, and Peeved Pink, all offset by a more subdued Know-It-All Navy. These colors can be used interchangeably between three elements of the logo: the background, the text, and the flame. I also developed a one-color and one-color outlined version of both icon and logo.

I created a series of scribbled patterns that can be used in any of the three main colors. These provide some texture and are primarily used on social platforms.
